AVIN OIL is a subsidiary of MOTOR OIL HELLAS.
MOTOR OIL has a leading role in the field of crude oil refining and marketing of petroleum products in Greece and in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean, supplying the region it serves with a wide range of high quality products. The parent company MOTOR OIL was founded in 1970 and the first year of operation of its refinery was in 1972. Since 2001 it has been listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. It is included in the General Index (ATHEX COMPOSITE INDEX), the High Capitalization Index (FTSE / ATHEX LARGE CAP) as well as the International Market Index (FTSE / ATHEX INTERNATIONAL). In addition, it is included in the MSCI GREECE index as well as in the FTSE4Good Index Series.
The refinery, which is the core of the company’s activities, is located in Agios Theodoros, Corinth, about 70 km from the center of Athens. Together with the auxiliary facilities and the fuel distribution facilities, it is the largest purely private industrial complex in Greece and is considered one of the most modern refineries in Europe with a degree of complexity of 11.54 (Nelson Complexity Index).
It has the ability to process various types of crude oil and produces a wide range of petroleum products, serving oil trading companies in Greece, while most of its production is available abroad. In addition, it is the only Greek refinery that produces basic lubricants. Due to the complexity of the refinery, MOTOR OIL produces high value-added products, adapting the final product mix to market needs, ensuring better disposal prices and achieving better refining margins compared to the other complex refineries of the Mediterenian.
